M-line Tokyo Alice interview

(Me says...) I may try to translate it and only if nobody else does. My flu is killing me.

King's Brunch

King's Brunch, short clip of the girls promoting the opening of Sacas FUTSAL Park.
As mentioned before, GATAS will be practicing there on every Wednesday for the whole of June. Only 100 lucky fans will be admitted, and I heard there are some strict regulations the fans have to follow.

(Me says...) Funny how both turn up with wavy hair. >_<

And,

(4th Gen) Debut 10th Anniversary Trio Special Match!
10th October.

Gatas vid @dohhhup

http://www.dohhhup.com/movie/JhakgNm3QkWzerktIwteP5UJ0gVv7t7e/view.php

Pre-training for SURUGA CUP.
They celebrated Konno's birthday, too.
They thought Konno won't be coming and were glad when she later turned up. As we can all see in the beginning of the vid that Konno was missing.
When Konno said she was happy, Yossi made fun of her by asking if she was happy because there's a cake?

(Me says...) The girls had so much fun practicing. My favorite (as with everybody's fav?) will be the part where Rika and Yossi were passing ball to one another. And not that I wanna complain, but Yossi can't seem to keep herself still whenever she's supposed to. I think it's kinda rude. >_<

Yossi made fun of Rika for her nice play/effort (even during practice).

Finally...

Yossi and Rika will appear together in King's Brunch on 30th May, this saturday~

http://www.tbs.co.jp/brunch/

It's a live show. Yeah!!

(Me says...) Any guesses whether Yossi will appear with shorter hair?

Recently...

1444 wotas in Japanese forums were comparing the girls' sizes because some noticed Rika looking really big besides Yossi in Tokyo Alice. And they also found out that the mugs the girls used in the musical are sold in Daiso.

Other than that, all is really quiet in 1444 fandom.

RararaRUN 2009-05-23 feat. Yossi

Yossi loves to run, but she hasn't been running for weeks. Someone (the female host?) said that most women don't like running because it makes their thighs/legs look big. Yossi agreed and the coach said it was because they were running the wrong way, since running like you were kicking will train the muscles where you don't want them to be. If done correctly, the legs won't look 'big', the hips won't expand, instead the buttocks will perk up making the person look better in jeans. Yossi seemed really glad to learn about it. She said whenever she slips into a pair of jeans, she realises one of her thigh is bigger than the other.
The host asked when Yossi started running. Yossi said she was once very 'big' and couldn't jump in her concerts. The hosts were surprised. In that concert, despite using all her strength to jump high, her manager later told her 'That wasn't a jump at all'. That comment made her set her mind on getting her body back into shape. Slowly, when she shed her weight, she wasn't as clumsy and there were changes in herself that made her feel good. The host said when 'futsal' was mentioned, people will think of her, and Yossi said she has been playing futsal for five years now. She still trains regularly, like once a week. And sometimes, even though the training is energy-straining, she will still go jogging when she gets back from training. The female host thought Yossi 'kakkoii' and asked why. Yossi said she likes the feeling of being totally drained before sleep.
The show proceeded to the 'practical' part. When the coach was scrutinizing her running, Yossi said she felt funny being watched. After that, the coach said Yossi's running form was good and he could only point out one thing that needed rectifying. Yossi's running posture changed after that and she said she should have no problem running another 10km now.
Yossi seems interested in marathon running and the coach said a person normally need to train five months, but Yossi may take only 2 months.

(Me says...) Rika once said Yossi has drooping eyes that look calming (msn Tokyo Alice interview). I wonder if she meant these~

What's new...

Yossi was in Okinawa today recording a TV show.

and Yossi will be on TV on 23rd May, the show's about keeping fit.
What actually is exermusic?

(Me says...) Is the guy in suit her manager? At least, he looks pleasing to the eye. >_<

H&A interview with Nippon Project

Another H&A interview by Nippon Project

Do you have a favorite anime or manga?

H&A: A lot.

Which would you cosplay from?
H: Crayon Shin chan.
A: Sailor Moon but definitely Angry.

Since you have video blogs, have you thought about writing a written blog?
H & A: No.

Who’s your favorite American celebrity?
H: Britney Spears and Michael Jackson.
A: Obama. (Giggles)

What is your favorite Michael Jackson song?
H: Bad.
A: ABC.

How many hairspray bottles do you use to get your hair to stay up?
H: 1/3 of the can.

Since this is your first overseas concert, do you want to visit or play in other places here?
H: Rockefeller Center and MGM.
A: The Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls.

You came to Earth to save the world from global warming, how do you plan to do that?
A: Turn lights off and pull plugs out from their sockets.
H: Turn water off often.

Do you have any input on the designs of the outfits?
H: I think about the outfit and then I think about what hairstyle would go best with the outfit.

What’s one place you would recommend your international fans go if they go to Japan?
H: Hangry & Angry in Harajuku.

What kind of musical background did you have when you were little?
H: Children songs.
A: I always listened to what my father listened to and he listened to pop.

Where is LOVE MACHINE now?

How was your trip here?
H: Lots of jetlag.
A: I keep eating.

Name a Japanese food you really like to eat.
H & A: A lot!
A: Sushi!

How do you relate to Hangry & Angry and what do they mean to you in your own words?
H: We can relate to Hangry & Angry but we know that this is a character. We respect the character though our real personality is different.
A: We judge each others appearance.
H: Angry’s fashion is really cute.
A: Sometimes we mix up characters. Hangry’s fashion is really punk and really cool but when I wear it, I don’t think I can pull it off.

You recently graduated from Hello!Project, do you have any future plans for your career?
H: Hangry & Angry is my life right now.
A: [in English] Me too!

When is the new Hangry & Angry single coming out?

Since you mentioned you weren’t like the characters Hangry & Angry, how do you get yourself into character?
H: When I put on the clothes, the makeup & my hair done, I’m absorbing the character. And when I see the audience, I’m ready to rock on.

Would you or have you done modeling for h.Naoto?
A: We’ve been modeling for Hangry & Angry in Japan.

What Japanese bands do you listen to?
H: Morning Musume.
A: All Hello!Project.

Do you like any live action dramas?
A: I watch a lot of American dramas. Prison Break.
H: 24!
A: Heroes! Lost! But American dramas are so long so I gave up.

When you look into the audience do you see a sea of faces or individual people?

What do you do during your free time?
A: Eat. I love eating. (Giggles.)
H: Writing.

Do you cook or do you always eat out?
A: Yeah I cook, but I’m not good at it.

You’re selling out one-man’s and your MySpace page had 160,000 hits in the first three days. Were you expecting such instant success?
A: Not at all. We never knew that there were many international fans. Now that we’re here in Seattle and the fans are in front of us…it’s so hard to believe.
The internet brings the world together.
H: Internet rules.

What are you plans in Seattle?
A: …The seafood is good. (Laughs.)
H: I want to visit Starbucks.

Nippon Project would like to thank Hangry & Angry, Lynks Management and JapanFiles for this interview.

(Me says...) Yossi likes to write during her free time ~ ~ woot~ >_<

In case you wanna know...

Tsuji blogged that she met Rika in office today (19th May).

(Me says...) I know I have said it for many times, but I love how Rika goes everywhere with minimum make-up. And, she looks better than Tsuji~ Haha~ >_<

Tokyo Alice update (truly last?)

Recently...

(Me says...) Whenever Yossi is looking stunning, people (anti-Yossi?) will bring up her weight issue. Someone re-posted this comic when wotas were discussing how pretty Yossi was in Tokyo Alice. I have long forgotten about this comic until I saw it again. Disparaging aside, the comic per se is actually quite funny, thus I translate it for those who don't understand Japanese. Seeing how the story unfolds, you'll realise i shi yo shi rumors must be really rampant in those days, I presume that's where the author got his inspiration from...

There's no doubt her fat days in 2002-2003 will always remain her stigma, but I choose to see the side where she shows her extraordinary determination by coming back and proving everybody wrong.

P/S: Anyone has Rika's comic from this series?

*The complete kageana list:
Rika/Rika for 8th May (2 sessions)
Yossi/Makoto for 9th May (2 sessions)
Rika/Yossi/Makoto for 10th May (3 sessions)
Yossi 11th May
Rika 12th May
Makoto 13th May
Yossi 14th May
Makoto/Rika 15th May (2 sessions)
Rika/Makoto/Yossi 16th May (3 sessions)
Makoto/Yossi/Rika 17th May (3 sessions) (end of run)

* On 16th after-talk-show, Yossi went back on stage wearing Rika's pink headband, the kishoi-looking one.

* h!p girls sighted today (17th):
11th row: Erika and Yui
14th row: Niigaki, Kame, Mitsui and Takahashi
15th row: Linlin and JunJun

* Yossi received overwhelming cheers during the show's last curtain call. Rika looked visibly surprised by it.
* Rika's last pose is 'happy', Yossi's 'dosun'.

wotas' report:
* Some complain that Yossi's going a little overboard with her ad-libs.
* One said that for the 2-hour show, he/she's only looking at Yossi's legs.

(Me says...) I never look forward to any DVD release as much as this one, and it will definitely be one that I'll watch again and again, for it's i shi yo shi goodness and yes, Yossi's legs!!! Who can resist an all-womanly Yossi? >_<

Rika turns your knees into Jelly~

This is the second time stylist Rika Yoshida is working with Rika. Even though she finds Rika to be the kawaii type, she wants to turn Rika into a 3:00am Cinderella, with a mature side of her never seen. Rika feels happy about the makeover saying how it's the first time she gets her make-up and hair styled in this manner. Yoshida thinks that Rika will look good too if made to wear cutie clothes instead of those dresses. Rika says dresses and cute clothes aren't in her private wardrobe. When she's out (for practices) she always dresses casually in t-shirts and Gパン (ragged-looking jeans). Yoshida then says there can be a cute side to rough dressing too, and that's precisely what she's going to do the next time she gets to work with Rika again.

(Me says...) one word: chameleon
She turns even woman on

hAngry&Angry @SakuraCon episode 4

Did the girls have vocal training? They sound so good! Falsetto~~~ I don't remember them being 'singers' back in momusu days. Wait... could they be lip-synching?

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=57401530

(Me says...) Despite hAngry trying to be cool at all times, she can't suppress her smile whenever she got close to Angry.

(Me says...) Rika IS a very pretty girl. (Who needs make-up?)

Tokyo Alice update (15th May 09)

* Rika's mother and both her sisters were there to watch the play.

* In one of her rare slips, Yossi fumbled her lines and Rika quickly 'tsukkomu' her. Yossi meant to say kansai ben (Kansai dialect) but said kanshai ben instead.

Yossi: bla bla... kanshai ben bla...
Rika: kanSHAI ben?
crowd: (laughs)
Rika: (continues with her line, pretending that she has heard 'kansai') So, what's with his kansai ben?
(but Yossi somehow tsukkomu back)
Yossi: Excuse me~ Didn't I say it's KANSHAI ben?

Tokyo Alice update (14th May 09)

Tokyo Alice Talk Session

(Rika) I have this musical to thank, for it has opened my world now to materialistic desires~
(explanation: In the musical, Rika's character is someone who's always chasing after worldly gains. Ok, too extreme >_<, let's just say she always want this and that - branded goods, for example. In real life, she isn't like that, but it may now change >_<)

(Yossi) Actually, I am the type who's waiting for my prince charming. No, if an Oil Shiek would to appear in my life, I would marry him right away!
(Rika) That's realistic.
(????) Which means you will want to try? (marriage.)
(Yossi) Yes (laugh) But there's nobody that's like Sayuri around me.
(Rika) Not even one, right?
(Makoto) Not-Even-One!
(Everybody) (laugh)

The girls talk about their roles and whether they share certain traits with the characters they play. Unlike her role, Rika doesn't go after material things, though sometimes she thinks the same way like her role, carefully weighing the pros and cons when making a decision; Fu's always debating whether or not to buy something. That's when she knew she would have no problem portraying Fu.
Since her real life has nothing to do with being rich and pampered, Yossi finds it hard to imagine what kind of person rich girl Sayuri is. And she definitely has no idea how to behave like a princess with servants at her beck and call, but she can connect with Sayuri's cool demeanour. Cool as not in being indifferent/aloof, but being calm when met with problems.

(Me says...) No Makoto's translate, because this place is for anything/everything i shi yo shi only.

And in case you wanna know...

People are praising Rika alot for her comical role. What surprise/delight them most is her comical expressions and timing. One female fan of the original manga itself blogged how she was apprehensive before the show starts as she imagined the worst the h!p idols would do to her favourite manga, because she thought idols can't act! But halfway through the play, she was already apologising (in her heart) to the girls for misjudging them; Rika's high-pitched voice and exaggerated comical expressions fit the manga character to a T, Yossi is very beautiful (like Sayuri) and Makoto is good too. In the end, she really enjoyed the play.

Tokyo Alice update (13th May 09)

Tsuji, Mai-chin, Ayaka and Koretty went to watch Tokyo Alice yesterday (12th May). Tsuji mentioned nothing much in her blog and posted two pics.

(Me says...) I only see where Yossi's right hand is.

In her blog, Mai-chin said that after the event she, Ayaka, Yossi and Rika went together for dinner. It's been some time since they had dine together and they had a good time with their girl's talk~ She signed off her post hoping they would all end up happy~

(Me says...) seeing Ayaka happily married must have some effect on them...

And in case you wanna know...

Fans did send them flowers~

This is for Rika, Yossi and Makoto from the 'HAPPY & DOSUN' society.

And this is for Yossi from the Bagel society. Apparently he/she/they too had sent flowers to Yossi for her past musicals '白虎隊' and OLIVIA.

(Me says...) Why the pseudonyms?
