(Me says...) I never look forward to any DVD release as much as this one, and it will definitely be one that I'll watch again and again, for it's i shi yo shi goodness and yes, Yossi's legs!!! Who can resist an all-womanly Yossi? >_<

Tokyo Alice update (15th May 09)

* Rika's mother and both her sisters were there to watch the play.

* In one of her rare slips, Yossi fumbled her lines and Rika quickly 'tsukkomu' her. Yossi meant to say kansai ben (Kansai dialect) but said kanshai ben instead.

Yossi: bla bla... kanshai ben bla...
Rika: kanSHAI ben?
crowd: (laughs)
Rika: (continues with her line, pretending that she has heard 'kansai') So, what's with his kansai ben?
(but Yossi somehow tsukkomu back)
Yossi: Excuse me~ Didn't I say it's KANSHAI ben?

Tokyo Alice update (14th May 09)

Tokyo Alice Talk Session

(Rika) I have this musical to thank, for it has opened my world now to materialistic desires~
(explanation: In the musical, Rika's character is someone who's always chasing after worldly gains. Ok, too extreme >_<, let's just say she always want this and that - branded goods, for example. In real life, she isn't like that, but it may now change >_<)

(Yossi) Actually, I am the type who's waiting for my prince charming. No, if an Oil Shiek would to appear in my life, I would marry him right away!
(Rika) That's realistic.
(????) Which means you will want to try? (marriage.)
(Yossi) Yes (laugh) But there's nobody that's like Sayuri around me.
(Rika) Not even one, right?
(Makoto) Not-Even-One!
(Everybody) (laugh)

The girls talk about their roles and whether they share certain traits with the characters they play. Unlike her role, Rika doesn't go after material things, though sometimes she thinks the same way like her role, carefully weighing the pros and cons when making a decision; Fu's always debating whether or not to buy something. That's when she knew she would have no problem portraying Fu.
Since her real life has nothing to do with being rich and pampered, Yossi finds it hard to imagine what kind of person rich girl Sayuri is. And she definitely has no idea how to behave like a princess with servants at her beck and call, but she can connect with Sayuri's cool demeanour. Cool as not in being indifferent/aloof, but being calm when met with problems.

(Me says...) No Makoto's translate, because this place is for anything/everything i shi yo shi only.


And in case you wanna know...

People are praising Rika alot for her comical role. What surprise/delight them most is her comical expressions and timing. One female fan of the original manga itself blogged how she was apprehensive before the show starts as she imagined the worst the h!p idols would do to her favourite manga, because she thought idols can't act! But halfway through the play, she was already apologising (in her heart) to the girls for misjudging them; Rika's high-pitched voice and exaggerated comical expressions fit the manga character to a T, Yossi is very beautiful (like Sayuri) and Makoto is good too. In the end, she really enjoyed the play.

Tokyo Alice update (13th May 09)

Tsuji, Mai-chin, Ayaka and Koretty went to watch Tokyo Alice yesterday (12th May). Tsuji mentioned nothing much in her blog and posted two pics.

(Me says...) I only see where Yossi's right hand is.

In her blog, Mai-chin said that after the event she, Ayaka, Yossi and Rika went together for dinner. It's been some time since they had dine together and they had a good time with their girl's talk~ She signed off her post hoping they would all end up happy~

(Me says...) seeing Ayaka happily married must have some effect on them...

In case you wanna know... Tokyo Alice update (12th May 09)

Tokyo Alice's been running for three days now. Except for the first day, there aren't any more reports complaining about having too many 'sex' in the play. A few wrote that, despite it being a play about women, men made up majority of the audience, and a few women who went alone initially found the men crowd intimidating, they were surprised that the men actually behaved well (Me says... maybe they thought the wotas would engage in wotagei~)

There are more reports on Rika than on Yossi. Again, people are surprised that Rika turned out kind of cute as her character, and some said they are beginning to like her more. They said Yossi's just out-of-character. Not that her acting wasn't good, but because her role is something people seldom see her on or off-screen. Many said both girls are good in their acting.

They have a talk show too, and apparently there was a little their moment in yesterday's show. Something like their usual bickering we are used to seeing in Gatas public practice. For example, when one was talking, the other would be fidgeting and then the former would ask 'are you listening?'... It seems that what happened yesterday was something similar.

* Most fans are disappointed with the stage play; their most common complain is that the play is nothing but sex, sex, and SEX~

(Me says...) that's kinda lame for a stage play, right? no wonder the fans are complaining.

* There's no kissing scene for Yossi (me hears fans heaving sighs of relief~) although there is a bed scene where she and her guy are supposed to be hugging passionately beneath the sheets.

* No flowers from wotas, despite all the discussions and plans to send them in 2ch recently.

* Last but not least, a statement from me: Yossi has killer legs!!!

(Me says...) Tokyo Alice starts today. Looking forward to reports by wotas, especially on Yossi's role.

When asked whether 'love' or 'money' is more important in a relationship, Rika said that there was something she always wanted to say and that "it is neither love nor money, but health that is the most important." Once, when watching a scene on TV, her mother had told her "only when you are in good health, then you can work hard to make money" and she has remembered those words since.

Yossi thinks having money in a relationship is quite important to an extent, because if there's no money, there's no way you can feed your hunger, and in this case, it is about survival. For love, Yossi trailed off and said "taking a character in the play for an example, I would tell the jobless and penniless person please come back (to me) after you have worked hard." Rika felt what Yossi had said was 'kakkoii'.

Yossi found the other woman's views too profound. She joked that since she had stepped into showbiz at the early age of 14, she had never experienced any adolescent teenage love, therefore her own views just now might be quite objective. However, there were times when she learned of people around her getting married, she would think 'so, they took the plunge, ne?' The other woman agreed and said people nowadays married at a young age. Yossi couldn't agree more (since fellow 4th gen member Tsuji Nozomi was a good example), but she said she never thought the same (thing) would happen to her. Rika agreed by saying 'somehow it feels like it is always other people's business, never mine...' to which Yossi agreed "it is other people's business, right?"

When asked if they looked forward to marriage, Rika said she would really be troubled if her prince charming were to suddenly appear in her life now. Yossi retorted: "You can never get married if you keep saying my prince-charming." They laughed and Rika said: "I won't marry suddenly because that would make me wonder what would happen to my job. However, there were times when I would dream about marriage, like forming a happy family and having kids."
Yossi felt that in reality she couldn't see herself getting married any time soon; her greatest joy now is her job.

If she were to live again, Rika said she would still choose her current job. She felt it's all fate that she had auditioned to be in MM, and then chosen and given the job. It wasn't because of her interest or any special talent that made her want to be in this line again, it was because after ten years of doing it, she felt she's so fated to be in this line. She likes the many challenges she gets to face.
Yossi said she wanted to be a man and would learn to hold a golf club at the age of 3. Rika gave the name of a famous Japanese golfer, and Yossi said 'Yes, I will want to become a professional golfer.'

Rika thinks she has grown up in a way that she is now able to withstand hunger better. She doesn't show it like before when people could just see from her face that she was getting hungry.

Yossi said she herself doesn't change (much). Perhaps the only thing about her that changes often is her hairstyle. Her hairstyle now is the longest she has had. Normally, she'd cut her hair when it has grown this long, and would already have if not for the musical, since long hair suits her role better. But, she is starting to get sick of her long hair. She doesn't like short hair better, just that short hair feels more comfortable and now, she finds it really troublesome to dry her long hair after washing.

When asked how they have changed after they have graduated from MM, Yossi said since we are still together always... when Rika said we are still together in group activities and will also meet up often. Rika then said if this time she were all alone in the musical, she would definitely feel nervous, but since Yossi and Makoto are with her now, she doesn't feel any 'isolation' (<<-- I might get this wrong).

With Rika laughing like this and Yossi looking like this, we know someone must be telling something goofy.



Interview excerpts:

- Rika is not brand-conscious, and she'll think for a very long time before buying something.
- Rika idolizes (falls in love) easily. For example, after she had watched Pirates of the Caribbean, she quickly fell in love with Johnny Dep. Then she was in love with Tom Cruise for his character in Mission Impossible. As she didn't really like Tom Cruise before, she wondered if it was because of his hairstyle in the movie. When Yossi retorted that was because she is always look-conscious (visual-conscious), she laughed.
- Yossi doesn't go for looks. She thinks that the world is full of beautiful people so that's nothing great about looking beautiful or handsome. Besides she thinks that people who are narcissistic can't be trusted.
- When asked about her love life, Yossi said the only man around her during her younger days was her dad. Rika added that Yossi has eyes that looks like her father, describing them having a calming presence. Yossi said her dad isn't handsome nor good-looking, but has a good sense of humor. He is also the kind of father who isn't too serious or crazy. The thing she likes most about her father is that her father sees her mother as the most important person in his life. She hopes to marry someone like her father, although her mother often tells her "Please marry someone different from your father!'
- Rika wants to marry someone who is her prince-charming. But, many a times, people have told her it is almost impossible to find someone like that.
